It all started six years ago at work. I had just come back from a vacation, and on my first day back, I hopped into the office cab—and there she was, sitting in the backseat. I had no idea who she was. My roommate (who I shared the cab with) hadn’t mentioned anything about a new teammate, so it was a complete surprise. I later found out she had just joined and was already getting along with a bunch of my close colleagues.

What brought us closer was Diwali week. Most of the office had gone home for the holidays, but both of us had stayed back. We ended up sharing more cab rides that week and spending more time together at the office—it felt like we were the only two people there. We became really good friends, and over time, something more.

For a long time, no one at work knew we were dating! Eventually, we decided to move in together… and the very day we moved in, the lockdown was announced. We had no idea what we were in for. But that time living together through such an unexpected phase became the foundation of so many memories and adventures.

And the rest, as they say, is history.
